Welcome to LIFT-UP

LIFT-UP is a nonprofit organization, located in Western Colorado, dedicated to providing essential humanitarian assistance in the communities we serve. We have offices and food pantries in Aspen, Basalt, Carbondale, Glenwood Springs, New Castle, Rifle and Parachute. The Extended Table Soup Kitchen serves hand-prepared, nutritious meals each Monday through Friday. LIFT-UP has been effectively and efficiently meeting needs in our local region since 1982. 2012 marks the 30th anniversary for LIFT-UP, and we gratefully acknowledge the strong support we have received from the community over the past three decades, which makes our vital services possible.

LIFT-UP participates in 15th annual Feinstein Challenge.

For the 15th straight year, the Feinstein Foundation is conducting its annual campaign to fight hunger in America. Allen Shawn Feinstein, of Rhode Island, is offering $1 million to be divided proportionally amongst qualified hunger fighting organizations like LIFT-UP, based upon the amount of money and food they raise in March and April.

Now in its 30th year, LIFT-UP still meets local needs with community support.

Since the downturn in the economy in the fall of 2008, demand for LIFT-UP's services in our local region has continued to be much higher than in previous years. Requests for assistance grew more than 300% in 2009, and demand was higher still in 2010 and 2011. So far this year, our seven area food pantries are serving an average of 2,500 people each month, distributing more than 3,000 bags of groceries per month. The Extended Table Soup Kitchen is serving an average of 1,130 meals per month, about 56 people each weeknight. Hopefully the warmer weather of springtime will also bring improvement in the local economy, and relief to local families in need.

LIFT-UP has only been able to keep up with the continuous high demand through the generous support of our caring community. Food drives, kind-hearted volunteers and financial supporters have made it possible for LIFT-UP to meet the growing needs in our area. As long as there are people in need, and a community that cares, LIFT-UP will be here to help.
