Now in its 29th year, LIFT-UP continues to meet growing local needs.

Since the downturn in the economy in the fall of 2008, demand for LIFT-UP's services in our local region has continued to be much higher than in previous years. Requests for assistance grew more than 300% in 2009, and demand was higher still in 2010 by about 10%.  So far this year, the needs are even greater than last year, and our food pantries are serving an average of more than 2,600 people each month, distributing more than 3,000 bags of groceries per month. The Extended Table Soup Kitchen is serving an average of 1,165 meals per month, nearly 60 people each weeknight.

LIFT-UP has only been able to keep up with the steadily increasing demand through the generous support of our caring community.  Food drives, kind-hearted volunteers and financial supporters have made it possible for LIFT-UP to meet the growing needs in our area. As long as there are people in need, and a community that cares, LIFT-UP will be here to help.
