Now in its 31st year, LIFT-UP meets local needs with community support.
LIFT-UP has been an extension of our community's concern for our neighbors in need for the past three decades. With seven area food pantries, help is within reach of anyone in our region. Families and individuals may receive four days worth of food for their family size, up to four times in a calendar year. The Extended Table Soup Kitchens operate in Glenwood Springs and Rifle to provide nutritious meals for folks in need, served by friendly members of the community. LIFT-UP also has thrift stores in Rifle and Parachute, where bargains can be found on quality clothing, furniture and household items, and all sales and donated goods help to support our ongoing programs and services.
Requests for assistance have been markedly higher since the downturn in the economy in 2008. LIFT-UP has only been able to keep up with the steady demand through the generous support of our caring community. Food drives, kind-hearted volunteers and financial supporters have made it possible for LIFT-UP to meet the ongoing needs in our area. As long as there are people in need, and a community that cares, LIFT-UP will be here to help.
